The message that is being conveyed, is now that Facebook is such a huge part of our lives, we must be extremely careful when we consider the content that's on our page. People are sometimes over eager to post anything on their page. These people fail to consider the consequences of their actions if a boss, teacher or parent comes across it. Your Facebook page does not just represent you, but it represents the people you are associated with, which is why company's have to be so careful about what their employees say and do on their page. A bad post on one persons page can negatively effect an entire company.

ReplyDeleteExcellent choice of an visual image to analyze, Andy. Well done. I was late enough to joining on Facebook that I'd read of many such stories occurring. I don't think, though, that I'm the type to spout off. It's easy to say something you wish you hadn't, a little harder to write something you wish you hadn't, and I would think, even harder to post/publish something you wish you hadn't. This is what's so intriguing to me is how we may alter our privacy settings, but doesn't that mean you're still trusting all of your friends to keep any "rants" etc to themselves? mc
